04 May POWER CAR TEAM ARRIVES TO ELBA

The stable is ready to deploy five crews: Forato/Gasparotto, Erbetta/Magrin, Menegatti/Gambasin, Bettini/Acri and Maestrini/Michi. The first three enrolled to the WRC Italian Championship and the last two at the single Rally. Great results last weekend from Roberto Vellani winner at his first 2017 race, and in Corsica where father and son Mariani ended the race respectively at the first and the third class place.

Power Car Team is ready for the first WRC Italian Championship race, planned for this first weekend of May, at the Elba island. The tricolor race starts with the Rallye Elba, for its 50th edition and a superlative enrolled list.

The Schio team will deploy 5 crews on the selective roads of the tuscan island, three of them at the C.I.WRC. series.

The crews composed by Antonio Forato and Ivan Gasparotto on the Peugeot 208 T16 R5, Domenico Erbetta and Matteo Magrin on board of the Peugeot 207 S2000 and Paolo Menegatti and Matteo Gambasin with the Renault Clio S1600 will search for the first important points. For them it’s the first of six races which compose the Italian series, that is the second for importance behind CIR. Drivers and navigators have the right determination and the cars are well prepared, therefore we expect hot races and championship.

The couples composed by the Elba driver Francesco Bettini and Luca Acri and by the tuscan Leopoldo Maestrini with Daniele Michi will complete the white and green group. We remind that Bettini plays at home and he is looking for an important reconfirmation, after ending the 2016 edition at the fourth place. Maestrini continues his spot races series and he present himself with the aggressive black and green livery which was primed for the Ciocco race, when he bailed out because of a hand ache.

The kermesse foresees three race days from the 4th to 6th of May, with a mileage of 117.40 km spread on 9 PS. As usually the headquarter is at Portoferraio, nerve centre for the start and the finish line in addition to the Park Assistance.

It continues the collaboration between Power Car Team and +Note by Stefano Farina and Cristian Zullo which, thanks to their long time experience, in 2011 joined the forces to create the excellent support for the rally navigators.

GREAT RESULTS FROM THE AWAY GAMES IN EMILIA AND CORSICA

Roberto Vellani, navigated by Fabio Cangini, took to the streets for his first race, ending already to the top podium place. The great Reggio Emilia pilot needed just a few kilometres to find again the confidence with the Peugeot 208 T16 R5 and, winning test by test, he got the 11th Rally of Romagna. Good results for Garonzi/Corradini as well, for them the third class place and the seventh national place on board of the Renault Clio Super1600.

In Corsica, at the 16th Cote des Nacres, both the crews deployed, which were composed respectively by father Mariani navigated by Jean-Francois Pergola and son Mariani placed side by side by Marc-Marie Guglielme, imposed themselves in their classes. The first won the class victory on board of the Renault Clio S1600, the second ended with a great third class place with the Peugeot 208 R2.
