THE GREAT TRICOLOR RALLY RETURNS WITH THE “CIOCCO”

Ciuffi and Strabello are ready to start Junior CIR aboard Peugeot 208 R2, flanked by Andrea Carella on board of a 208 R5 in the Regional to test the car for CIWRC.
Rally Italian Championship starts again from the classic appointment at Rally del Ciocco and Valle del Serchio, which is at its 41st edition, and Power Car Team will not be unprepared.
The 2018 season will see the Schio team on the starting line of CIR Junior with two crews, both on board of “the little” Peugeot 208 R2. The first crew will be composed by the couple Tommaso Ciuffi/Nicolò Gonella, which is back from an important 2017 season and from the recent victory at Rally Valtiberina that brings positive vibes to the young and fast Tuscan pilot; the other crew will be composed by Stefano Strabello, who has been the protagonist of Suzuki Trophy last year and, in this season, he will be flanked by Giuseppe Ceschi and he has decided to compete with the bigs in “Junior”.
There will be also Andrea Carella, navigated by Enrico Bracchi , at his debut with a Peugeot 208 T16 R5 and enrolled in the Regional version of the race. It will be for him the occasion to test the car which he will use at the Italian WRC Championship, that starts on the last weekend of April with “1000 Miglia”.
This year the race will consisto of 15 special tests for the CIR version for a total amount of 154 kilometres, that will be on Friday 23 and Saturday 24. On the other hand nine will be the PS reserved to the regional race, on 72 kilometres, which will be on Saturday. The start will be at 5.15 pm on Friday in Forte dei Marmi, and the end at Rocca di Castelnuovo Garfagnana at 7.30 pm on saturday.
ROVATTI AND COLFERAI IN FULL SWING
Great results gained at the 3rd Rally dei Colli Scaligeri for both of the white-and-green pilots on the starting line aboard Renault Clio S1600. It has been happy the first seasonal race of Michele Rovatti, who is preparing the programme which demands him at IRC, he has had a brilliant performance taking the lead of the race in the first special test and maintaining it until the end. Good performance also for Paolo Menegatti who has closed his away race with the fourth class place, that gives trust for the Italian WRC Championship season.
Carlo Colferai, at his first seasonal race on the Slovenia asphalt at Poligon Gaj Circuit, which is the first appointment Rally Circuit Championship 2018, he ended with the overall victory aboard Peugeot 207 S2000.
It has been an away race characterized by a difficult choice by Massimo Fusetti on board of a Peugeot 208 R2, at the 27th Rally dei Laghi, who decided to retire when he was at the PS4, because of bad weather conditions.
