27 Apr IN TURKEY WE START WITH A PODIUM

A great performance weekend outside Italy, a podium in Turkey for Yagiz Avci and a fourth place in the National Championship for Zanon in Slovenia. More than a positive race for Menegatti and Melino at Prealpi Orobiche, pending performance for De Tommaso because of bad weather that caused the mourning race annulment. This weekend we continue with Vellani at Rally of Romagna and the Mariani father and son couple at Cote des Nacres.

It has been a demanding weekend for Power Car Team which was at four fronts.

In Turkey, for the first Turkish National Championship race, the reigning champion Yagiz Avci had a great performance with the Peugeot 208 T16 R5. The first race day had been ended with a 17th place, because of a penalty, but the second day the Turkish pilot disclosed to have the right stride and, winning test by test, he finished with a great 3rd place in the National Championship bringing home some heavy points.

In Slovenia at Vipavska Dolina, Bernd Zanon with 207 S2000 had another great race. The pilot imposed himself in the first part of the race intimidating the Slovenians, and he ended the performance narrowly the podium, in 4th National Championship place.

At Prealpi Orobiche went well for both crews. Paolo Menegatti with Clio S1600 ended his test race, for the first CIWRC appointment at Elba Island, in 2nd class place; Marco Melino on a Peugeot 208 R2, with a constant progression performance, ended in 4th classe place at only 2 one tenths from the direct rival.

In Sicily at “Targa” the race was canceled because of a serious mortal accident. At the moment of the incident Damiano De Tommaso with his Peugeot 208 R2 was in the 5th CIR Junior place. Not a great race because of the unfavorable and bizarre weather conditions in the special test.

THIS WEEKEND WE ARE IN ROMAGNA AND CORSICA

In Savignano sul Rubicone there is the 11th Rally of Romagna, a nine special test and 66,51 km route, between Rubicone and Cesena hills. The Reggio Emilia top driver Roberto Vellani will search the top of the podium with the faithful Luca Amadori on board of a Peugeot 207 S2000.

This weekend as well, another part of the team is in Corsica, for the 16th Cote des Nacres. At the start there will be father and son Mariani, the first flanked by Pergola Jean-Francois on a Renault Clio S1600 and the second with Guglielmi Marc-Marie with a Peugeot 208 R2.
