12 Apr POWER CAR TEAM IN FORCE AT RALLY DEL GRIFO
At Grifo four cars to look great: Carella with the 208 R5, Menegatti and Nicoletti aboard Clio S1600 and Toffano on board of a 208 R2. Last weekend great start in IRC for Ciuffi and Rovatti.
Power Car Team is on the Vicenza asphalts for the 9th Rally del Grifo on April 14 and 15.
Andrea Carella will seek a top place, flanked by Enrico Bracchi, with the Peugeot 208 T16 R5, at the second race of the season preparing the CIWRC. He is back from the happy away race at “Ciocco” that has given the first place at the Piacenza pilot in the Regional version.
Two crews will make theirs stand in the class riserve for S1600. The first, composed by Paolo Menegatti and Matteo Gambasin, who is back to race after the “Colli Scaligeri” with the will to get an important result in view of the first act of CIWRC, that is planned for the end of the month. The secondo ne, composed by Alessandro Nicoletti and Luca Zanrosso, who is at his debut in race with a Renault Clio S1600 with which he will seek to exploit the multiannual race knowledge and ending with a prominent performance.
Also Giovanni Toffano will be on the starting line with Pietro Ometto. He is ready to fight between a fierce R2 class, aboard Peugeot 208.
LIGHTS AND SHADOWS BACK FROM LIRENAS
A new great performance for the Tuscan Tommaso Ciuffi aboard 208 R2, who has dominated 8th Rally Internazionale Lirenas, winning six of nine special tests planned, adding the third consecutive laurel at his palmares.
Great satisfaction also for Michele Rovatti, aboard Clio S1600 with wich he ended at the 12th place in the overall rank. Now it’s out of his system being in front of higher class cars in the single tests.
Pierre Campana ended with a sour taste, at his first experience with the 208 R5, who has been delayed by the hydro-drive breakup and then he has retired at PS7 because of a road exit, after recording top-five timings during the first part of the kermesse.
