15 Sep POWER CAR TEAM AND MENEGATTI ARE ITALIAN WRC CHAMPIONS
Paolo Menegatti at “San Martino” gained the CIWRC title with an advance of one race! Next weekend two cars in Rome with Ciuffi and De Tommaso for a new appointment of CIR, at RAAB with Roberto Vellani and in Corsica at Rallye de Corte with Mariani.
The “San Martino”, as usual has been a demanding task but it brought great satisfactions for Power Car Team. The couple composed by Paolo Menegatti and Matteo Gambasin won two titles on the Trento asphalts; the Italian WRC, and the Michelin Cup.
After a one year stop, great return for Emanuele Zecchin. The Venice gentleman-driver, on board of a Peugeot 208 R5, reach the third class place.
A race without any problem for Stefano Liburdi, who ends gaining points again in CIWRC, thanks to the fourth class S2000 place.
On race there were also Vittorio Ceccato on a Renault Clio S1600 and Domenico Erbetta with a Peugeot 207 S2000; the first one ended in fourth class place, the second one has retired after the “Manghen” PS2.
TO ROMA CAPITALE, RAAB E RALLYE DE CORTE
The huge work continues for the Schio team, also this weekend it is side by side with its pilots deploying three teams, which are divided in different appointments in Italy and Corsica.
The main event is the fifth CIR appointment scheduled for 15/16/17 of September, with the 5th Rally di Roma Capitale, in which there are two couples composed by Damiano De Tommaso/Paolo Rocca and Tommaso Ciuffi/Nicolò Gonella, both on board of a Peugeot 208 R2.
A very important appointment for the two young pilots, because it regards the “Junior” and the Peugeot Competition TOP 208; in which De Tommaso is on the top of the rank with 45 points followed by Ciuffi with 30.
De Tommaso, who fights also for CIR Junior, in which occupies the second place, he will approach the race looking for the maximum amount of points to raise his rank.
The Rome race covers 36 cities and 1000 kilometres by having 12 special tests. Start day on Friday 15 in the centre of Rome, with the starting ceremony and the test show at Eur, followed by two days, Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 for Race 1 and Race 2. End day on Sunday 17 at Ostia.
Roberto Vellani is going to look for gold, in a couple with Luca Amadori, at RAAB, the 29th Rally Alto Appennino Bolognese, on board of a Peugeot 208 R5. The event, which takes place on the Bologna asphalts, has its centre in Gaggio Montano, and its characterized by the development of ten special test, for a total amount of 77,600 timed kilometres.
A third Peugeot 208 R2 is for Paul Andrè Mariani and Marc Marie Guiglielmi, on the starting line in Corsica for the 30th Rallye National de Corte.
